I design and evaluate outcomes-based professional development training programs for nonprofit professionals, national service members, and volunteers.
Process
As a designer, I sit down with subject matter experts to develop program outcomes — action statements that describe what program participants ought to be able to do, out in the real world, as a result of participating in the program.
With outcomes in hand, I identify concepts, issues, skills, and assessment tasks both at the program level and at the course/workshop level.
The process ensures cogent programs that give learners the preparation they need to gain relevant insights and practical skills they can easily transfer to the workplace or other context.
